Description of the Course
The Sastras like the Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabaratha  and  authentic literatures are full of transcendental knowledge. They are unique in composition and unrivaled in presentation.  India's glory and the message of love will over flood this morbid world, when these literatures are presented “as it is “to the people and thus  pave way for global peace and prosperity.
The Upanishads direct our attention to the Personality of Godhead by first negating what is distinct from Him and then defining some of His important characteristics. They teach us about the Supreme Brahman, the most important and valuable object to be attained by any living entitiy. Sri Isopanishad is one such literature that brings the reader closer to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It is one of the shortest Upanishads, embedded as the final chapter (adhyāya) of the Shukla Yajurveda. It is a Mukhya (primary, principal) Upanishad,

vedaish ca sarvair aham eva vedyo vedanta-krid veda-vid eva caham
"By all the Vedas I am to be known. Indeed, I am the compiler of the Vedanta, and I am the knower of the Vedas."*    (Bhagavad-gita 15.15)

Amongst the various approaches to understand the Absolute Truth, Vedanta Sruti -- the aural reception is recommended as the only perfect method of realizing the Absolute Truth by the seriously inquisitive student. Why should one pursue this course?

With the explosive expansion of science and technology, there is also rapid deterioration of the quality of life. Hence, there is a immediate need to include applied spiritual knowledge and spiritual technology in our daily life.
Unless applied to our daily life religious knowledge has not much relevance. Religious values such as compassion, truthfulness, nonviolence, forbearance are increasingly neglected in the world today.  Hence, there is a great need to hear the voices of the sages and saintly persons and timeless writings of the scriptures to restore sanity and quality of life.
Dr. Singh, the founding director of the Bhaktivedanta Institute believed that our education should be holistic, inculcating  a well-balanced modern scientific approach and spiritual value to students. This course is an humble attempt to  carry our the profound vision of Dr.T.D.Singh.
