![]() Dr. T. D. Singh, the founding director of Bhaktivedanta Institute and a pioneer in science-spirituality dialogue, envisioned that Bangalore, being the home to many educational and research institutions and therefore fostering the intellectual manpower, is a fertile ground for promoting the interface between science and spirituality. Dr. Singh envisioned that in our search for the Ultimate Reality and answers to some of the most fundamental questions of our existence, the two seemingly different approaches – scientific method and spiritual wisdom needs to join hands. He organized several international and national conferences to stimulate creative thinking in students for a balanced growth of scientific and spiritual advancement and to support outstanding students, scholars and scientists in their pursuit of deeper knowledge. The 2nd Annual Conference “Fusion 2019” is a humble attempt to carry forward this vision of Dr.T.D. Singh.
About the Conference
The' FUSION' Annual Conference hosts professionals, research scholars and students to network, share ideas, and discover new approaches in synthesizing science and spirituality. Here you’ll have access to the gathering of your peers. People who you can relate to, learn from, and actively contribute towards the holistic approach in all fields of learning in art, science, philosophy, physics, chemistry, psychology, economics, politics, etc. in the quest for ultimate reality. The 2019 Conference on ‘Spirituality and Health’ invites health care practitioners, scholars, religious community leaders, and students to exchange ideas about the relationship of spirituality with quality of life and well being from a scientific perspective. For most of the twentieth century, the physicians approach to health was based on the mechanistic model i.e., health is determined solely by the atoms and molecular constituents that make up the physical body. However, over the past few decades, awareness of a psychosomatic, or mind-body, connection has transformed psychology, medicine and science towards a new perspective addressing the human physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects. The study of the relationship between religion, spirituality, and health is now an important field of medical research and a growing area of public interest. Studies show that positive beliefs, comfort, and strength gained from religion, meditation, and prayer can contribute to well being. It may even promote healing. Improving your spiritual health may not cure an illness, but it may help you feel better. It also may prevent some health problems and help you cope better with illness, stress, or death. Conferences such as this provide a unique opportunity for academics and clinicians in healthcare to share their research findings, clinical practice and emerging ideas. |
